Where is your home located, and how long have you lived there?
We have lived at StoneGable a farmhouse inspired home for 19 years. We live just outside of Lancaster Pa
What is your favorite decorating style?
My favorite decorating style is a combination of Modern Traditional and American Farmhouse and a little touch of Industrial.
Where do you get your decorating influence from the most?
I am a magazine junky! I read lots and lots of decor magazines from cover to cover and save many of them to read again. I'm inspired by magazines and blogs but not necessarily influenced. What I love is what influences me!
In 5 words or less, your home is?
Welcoming, not-perfect, haven, comfortable, sometimes-messy (yikes!)
What is your favorite store or flea market to shop at?
If truth be told, I am not much of a shopper. However I do frequent our local Pottery Barn Outlet. And I love Luckett's Store in Leesburg Va. I am thrilled I can shop online!
Share one of your favorite decorating tricks or ideas:
It's the littlest things that can make the biggest difference in decorating. A well layered chair, a great pillow, a nice arrangement, a pretty vignette, candles, a well organized room, etc. We don't have to change everything in a room to have a room that we love, and many of us (including me) can't afford that luxury. Working on a few small things that are doable can make a huge difference in the way our homes look! I think we should love our homes no matter what.
Your favorite paint color, name and brand:
My favorite paint right now is Sonnet by Benjamin Moore. I have used it on most of the walls in my downstairs. It's a soft, creamy, dreamy, neutral. It's not yellow and it's not grey. It's just right! I am thrilled to have found this color as I think finding the perfect paint color is so hard!
What is your favorite room in your house, and why?
My kitchen is hands down my very favorite room at StoneGable! It's the place I love to be and so does most everyone else! This sounds so sappy, but it really is the heart of my home!
Your next project is:
Our next project is the downstairs bathroom. We are going to totally gut it and give it an American Farmhouse look. Whitewashed board walls, a big farmhouse sink and lots of galvanized metal. Bobby (my hubby) will start this month. Nothing like a Christmas project!
