This month we're visiting Melody's new home!

Most of my regular Cottage of the Month viewers will probably remember Melody's previous home (here) and her garden (here). Not too long ago, Melody married a wonderful man named Alex, and they happily reside in this wonderful home in Ventura County, California.Melody took her Shabby Chic style and blended it with a masculine influence to create what she refers to as a "Shabby Spanish" look. A blending of romance and sophistication. Melody's husband, Alex, is an avid reader and loves art. Melody kept her favorite items from her previous home, but wanted to create a home that reflected them as a couple.
"We love going to flea markets, and thrift stores, always on the look out for the next treasure" says Melody. "We love gardening, and I have enjoyed creating the theme gardens that surround the property". Melody's favorite is the "English Garden", which is a mix of roses with perennials and garden decor from many of their flea market ventures. "I have a couple of Blue jays that comes for peanuts at the same time everyday", says Melody. "I have been able tame them to eat out of my hands. I just love it. Simple pleasures!"
