July 2011 Cottage of the Month
I hope you've brought along your passports, cause this month we're traveling all the way to Tokyo, Japan!
Welcome to Yozo's tiny 70 square meter home in a seaside town 20km outside of Tokyo.
Where is your home located, and how long have you lived there?
I live in Shanghai, China. I have lived in Shanghai, China for 2 years, and previously lived in Tokyo, Japan for 5 years.
What is your favorite decorating style?
I used to like just Shabby Chic, but now prefer mixing different styles. All elements of Shabby Chic, Chinese, European, Asian.....all mixed up.
Where do you get your decorating influence from the most?
Flickr, online magazines, Japanese magazines, Chinese traditional elements.
In 5 words or less, your home is?
Cozy, mixed styles, memories
What is your favorite store or flea market to shop at?
There are many thrift stores in Japan with cheap prices and almost-new second hand goods. But in China it is different. Many antique markets with a bit higher price but cool antique goods.

What are your favorite things to collect right now?
Dolls, tin boxes, etc...
What is your favorite room in your house, and why?
The living room. Cozy and spacious enough to do everything.
