Turning a New Leaf

I snapped this photo on Christmas day. It’s been so warm and windy, and crunchy-leafy this past week, I’ve been inclined to wish everyone a Merry Fall-mas…

We recently took a holiday with my parents to their vacation home in Las Vegas. It was so soothing. We even made time for a round of family-style miniature golf! The break was so good for my head. I took advantage of the long desert drive, and focused on self reflecting and goal evaluating, something I usually find too distracting to attempt in the chaos of home.

It’s 2014 now, and Adam and I are on the verge of making some great changes in our lives, and the prospect of new business ventures awaits us. With most changes (at least for me) change often accompanies fear. Even in the face of positive change, the unknowingness that comes with changes makes my skin feel one size to small and it’s difficult to breathe it all in. To quote Jack Canfield: “Everything you want is on the other side of fear.” This is when I know I’m headed in the RIGHT direction, even though I can’t quite see what lies in the road up ahead.

We have also been putting great awareness and focus on our health and longevity. I am experiencing the amazing glowing benefits of becoming raw vegan, something I have become increasingly passionate about. These past 6 months I have been living on a great abundance of nothing but local organic fruits and raw vegetables, and I’ve never felt closer to nature or more in tune with my body. I haven’t shared much of that here, as I’m not sure it’s the right platform. But if you are interested in learning more or have questions I’ll be happy to respond in the comments.

I am so very excited to see what this new year brings. I hope it is one filled with happiness and laughter, and all the joy that life brings. Thank you for joining me here. You are the bright spot in my day : )

Very interesting about becoming a raw vegan. Do you eat anything besides fruits and veggies…how about raw nuts?

Hi Jennifer. I’ve enjoyed visiting your blog for a while now, but this is my first time posting as I’m new to Blogger. I added you to my roll. We are trying to eat more raw foods as well. Good for you following through with your eating plan. Happy New Year!

I remember reading a post about your health some time back and I personally would love to hear how you have changed your health and food the reasons leading up to it, how you managed the change, what feels hard, easy etc. Life can’t all be about decorating!!! Afterall you need need to be healthy to live life and have a business so yep, I think this is the perfect platform for it. Just go for it. I’ll be listening all the way from Australia. • Hi Kathy, thanks for the vote up. There has been so much interest, I am definitely going to figure out the right way to do this. Maybe a separate blog? Not sure yet. We’re working out the details as we speak!

Hi Jennifer, love the picture of the leaves☺ I totally hear you about fear accompanying change!! But I like what you said that this is how you know you’re headed in the right direction!! Anything that is good or worth it should be a little hard, should make us a little (or a lot) afraid, and if we want the change bad enough it’ll all be worth it in the end!! I pray that you and Adam will be successful and happy in all you do☺–♥Angie

It amazes me what great pictures are taken with cell phones! Love it. I’m with Angie…Prayers that you and the hubby are successful in all that you do. In every new adventure you take on. I’ve read this blog for as long as I can remember and have always found you to be so sweet and endearing.
I can’t tell you how many time I’ve went back to year one on the home of the month and took the whole day going year by year. Thank you for all those
pictures that are so inspirational and beautiful. That is a great quote btw and spot on.
I’ve read and heard a little about Raw Vegan. I would love to hear more from someone that is actually eating that way and about the benefits you are having. I’m a veggie fool. Not so much fruit but I could and would give it a try. Not much of a meat person to begin with and I’d have no problem giving it up completely. I’m just not sure how Raw Vegan works. Can’t wait for you to share.

    Thanks again!
